Cascadia Commandery’s First Annual Unsung Heroes Gala

Cascadia Commandery of the Order of St George held it’s First Annual Unsung Heroes Gala, and it promises to be a popular annual fund raising and newsworthy Vancouver event celebrating the unsung heroes of British Columbia.

On 22 February 2020 at HMCS Discovery, we celebrated Commander Angus Hetherington Rankin, for whom the NLCC Rankin is named. The event was well hosted, on behalf of Cascadia Command, by HMCS Discovery, and the Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC).

Final numbers for this years event will be posted here as soon as the information is available.

A Gallery of photos will be available by early April. If you have photos from the evening that you wish to share, please forward them to Melanie Graham, Communications Officer for Cascadia Command, at  Be sure to send along the names of the people in your photos.

This annual event plans to celebrate a different unsung hero every year, current or from the rich and colourful history of British Columbia. The emphasis will be on those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces, Regular, Reserve or Cadet Instructor Cadre, Rangers, as well as First Responders but any notable unsung hero from our local and regional history would certainly bear consideration.

Each gala event will include a presentation that showcases the individual being celebrated followed by a Formal Gala Dinner and an interesting and engaging keynote speaker.

We will be looking for volunteers every year to make this excellent event an annual success.
